(c)

1. (1) To ensure privacy in multipatient rooms, each bed shall be provided with flame retardant cubicle curtains.
2. (2) In existing facilities, partitions or free-standing folding screens may be used.

(d)

1. (1) Each patient shall be provided with a rigid single bed in good repair measuring a minimum of thirty-six inches (36”) in width.

2. (2)

   1. (A) Beds shall be provided with three-inch casters and at least two (2) of the four (4) casters shall be of the locking type.
   2. (B) Roll-away beds, cots, or folding beds are not acceptable.

3. (3) The beds shall be:

   1. (A) Equipped with a comfortable pillow and a comfortable, firm mattress at least five inches (5”) thick; and
   2. (B) Covered with a moisture repellant material.
4. (4) There shall be hospital type adjustable beds available for patients receiving bed nursing care.

(e)

1. (1) Each patient shall be provided with a bedside table with a:

   1. (A) Compartment or drawer for personal belongings, such as:

(i) Soap;

1. (ii) Hairbrushes;

   1. (iii) Combs;

      1. (iv) Toothbrushes; and
      2. (v) Dentifrice; and
   2. (B) Lower enclosed compartment for storage of individual bedpan or urinal.
2. (2) Open-shelved stands are not acceptable.

(f) A comfortable chair shall be:

1. (1) Provided for each licensed bed; and
2. (2) Available at the bedside unless contraindicated by the patient's condition.

(h) Bed rails shall be provided for bed patients and disoriented patients.

1. (i) Furniture and play equipment used in the care of children shall be painted with lead free paint.
