1. (1) In the event that a breast milk bank is unable to supply the needs of its recipients, it should contact other breast milk banks for assistance in supplying breast milk.
2. (2) If unable to locate additional supplies of donor breast milk, it dispenses the breast milk available on a priority basis to the recipients in greatest need.

3. (3) The breast milk bank coordinator/director and/or the medical director makes these decisions, basing them on:

   1. (A) Diagnosis;
   2. (B) Severity of illness;
   3. (C) Availability of alternative treatments; and
   4. (D) History of previous breast milk use.
