- (1) Use the ice-point method.
- (2) Insert the thermometer probe and the reference thermometer probe into a container of ice and water.
- (3) Allow the temperature to stabilize.
- (4) Compare readings and adjust thermometer to reference thermometer reading according to the manufacturer's directions and/or service or replace thermometer.
(b) Hot-point calibration method.
- (1) Immerse the thermometer probe and the reference thermometer probe into water set at sixty-five degrees Celsius (65°C).
- (2) Allow the temperature to stabilize.
- (3) Compare readings and adjust thermometer to reference thermometer reading according to manufacturer's directions and/or service or replace thermometer.
