Bather load
Arkansas Code § 20-30-103
- (a) The maximum number of bathers in the pool at any one time shall not exceed a number determined by the following formula: Swimming pool maximum bathing load (SPMBL).
Where A = Total area of water surface in square feet. S = Area of pool less than 5.5 feet deep in square feet. - (b) Note. This formula will be used in determining certain features of pools as noted elsewhere in this part.
(c) Bather load requirements shall not apply to:
- (1) Class D wading pools;
- (2) Class C special purpose pools; or
- (3) Class E therapy pools/spas.
- (d) Bather load requirements for Class C, special purpose pools, shall be determined on a case-by-case basis by the Department of Health.
- (e) Bather load requirements for Class F spas shall be based on one (1) bather for every ten square feet (10 sq. ft.) of water surface.
(f) When applicable the maximum bather load shall:
- (1) Be conspicuously posted at the entrance of the facility; and
- (2) Not be exceeded.
