All requirements of this part shall apply, without regard to quantity of medical waste produced per month, to any person generating medical waste, except as exempted in 20 CAR § 53-104, and to include but not be limited to, the following healthcare-related facilities:
- (1) Ambulatory surgical centers;
- (2) Abortion clinics;
- (3) Birthing centers;
- (4) Blood banks and blood drawing centers;
- (5) Clinics, including but not limited to, medical, dental, and veterinary;
- (6) Educational institution health centers, (school nurse offices) and research facilities;
- (7) Emergency medical services and minor emergency centers;
- (8) Employee health clinics;
- (9) Funeral establishments;
- (10) Health maintenance organizations;
- (11) Home health agencies;
- (12) Hospices;
- (13) Hospitals;
- (14) Laboratories, including but not limited to clinical, diagnostic, pathological, veterinary, and biomedical research;
- (15) Long-term care facilities;
- (16) Mental health facilities and facilities serving individuals with intellectual disabilities;
- (17) Pharmacies;
- (18) Pharmaceutical manufacturing plants and research facilities;
- (19) Professional offices, including but not limited to, the offices of physicians, dentists, and veterinarians;
- (20) Public health units;
- (21) Renal dialysis centers;
- (22) Special residential care and assisted living facilities;
- (23) Tattoo parlors; and
- (24) Trauma scene clean-up entities.
