All requirements of this part shall apply, without regard to quantity of medical waste produced per month, to any person generating medical waste, except as exempted in 20 CAR § 53-104, and to include but not be limited to, the following healthcare-related facilities:

1. (1) Ambulatory surgical centers;
2. (2) Abortion clinics;
3. (3) Birthing centers;
4. (4) Blood banks and blood drawing centers;
5. (5) Clinics, including but not limited to, medical, dental, and veterinary;
6. (6) Educational institution health centers, (school nurse offices) and research facilities;
7. (7) Emergency medical services and minor emergency centers;
8. (8) Employee health clinics;
9. (9) Funeral establishments;
10. (10) Health maintenance organizations;
11. (11) Home health agencies;
12. (12) Hospices;
13. (13) Hospitals;
14. (14) Laboratories, including but not limited to clinical, diagnostic, pathological, veterinary, and biomedical research;
15. (15) Long-term care facilities;
16. (16) Mental health facilities and facilities serving individuals with intellectual disabilities;
17. (17) Pharmacies;
18. (18) Pharmaceutical manufacturing plants and research facilities;
19. (19) Professional offices, including but not limited to, the offices of physicians, dentists, and veterinarians;
20. (20) Public health units;
21. (21) Renal dialysis centers;
22. (22) Special residential care and assisted living facilities;
23. (23) Tattoo parlors; and
24. (24) Trauma scene clean-up entities.
