- (a) Universal precautions must be observed.
- (b) Medical waste. The facility must comply with the Rules Pertaining to the Management of Regulated Medical Waste from Health Care Related Facilities, 20 CAR pt. 53, promulgated under the authority of Acts 1913, No. 96 as amended and Acts 1992, No. 41.
(c) Testing for communicable disease.
- (1) Both partners must be tested for hepatitis B and for the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in the three (3) months prior to initiation of the ART treatment cycle.
- (2) A full bacteriologic examination must be conducted if the initial semen analysis reveals any sign of infection.
- (d) Goggles or glasses and face masks as appropriate must be worn while handling gametes and embryos.
