Before removing a dead body or fetus that has reached a gestation period of twenty (20) completed weeks from the place of death, the funeral director or his or her designated representative shall:

1. (1) Obtain assurance from the attending physician that:

   1. (A) Death is from natural causes; and
   2. (B) The physician will assume responsibility for certifying to the cause of death or fetal death; or
2. (2) Contact the medical examiner or coroner if the case comes within his or her jurisdiction and receive authorization from him or her to remove the body.
