(a)
- (1) If the natural parents marry after the birth of a child, a new certificate of birth shall be prepared by the State Registrar of Vital Records for a child born in this state upon receipt of an affidavit of paternity signed by the natural parent of said child, together with a certified copy of the parents' marriage record.
- (2) However, if another man is shown as the father of the child on the original certificate, a new certificate may be prepared only when a determination of paternity is made by a court of competent jurisdiction.
- (b) The new birth certificate shall not be marked “amended”.
