(a)

1. (1) The University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service has developed a training manual for Classification 9: Ornamental, Tree, and Turf Pest Control – Noncommercial Applicator.
2. (2) The materials within this manual will be updated as needed to meet or exceed the competency requirements of 40 C.F.R. § 171.103(d)(3) (ornamental and turf pest control), to meet the requirements of changing technology and to ensure a continuing level of competence and ability to use pesticides safely and properly pursuant to Arkansas Code § 17-37-206(g).
3. (3) The title of the manual will be updated to reflect the current category name for Classification 9.

(b)

1. (1) In addition, applicants must also pass the basic core examination as per the federal competency standard in 40 C.F.R. § 171.103(d)(7).
2. (2) The training materials and examinations will be updated as the federal standards are updated.
