(a)

1. (1) The University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service has developed training manuals for:

   1. (A) Classification 4: Ornamental, Tree, and Turf Pest Control;
   2. (B) Classification 5: Weed Control; and
   3. (C) Classification 6: Golf Course Pest Control.
2. (2) The materials within these manuals will be updated as needed to meet or exceed the competency requirements of 40 C.F.R. § 171.103(d)(3) (ornamental and turf pest control), to meet the requirements of changing technology and to ensure a continuing level of competence and ability to use pesticides safely and properly pursuant to Arkansas Code § 17-37-206(g).

(b)

1. (1) In addition, applicants must also pass the basic core examination as per the federal competency standard in 40 C.F.R. § 171.103(d)(7).
2. (2) The training materials and examinations will be updated as the federal standards are updated.
