2 CAR § 34-1203 – Field standards

(a) Isolations.
1. (1) Rye for certification shall be isolated from another variety or from noncertified rye of the same variety by at least one-fourth (1/4) mile.
2. (2)
  1. (A) Wheat, barley, or oats for certification shall be isolated from other crops by fifteen feet (15’), and if the adjoining field to the one being certified has been sown broadcast, then the isolation required is thirty feet (30’).
  2. (B) No isolation would be required if the adjoining field is the same variety and is certified.

(b) Field inspection.

(1) Other crops shall mean those crops that would be difficult to separate from the crop being certified by the usual cleaning methods.
(2) Objectionable noxious weeds shall include:
1. (A) Field bindweed;
2. (B) Serrated tussock;
3. (C) Itchgrass;
4. (D) Tropical soda apple;
5. (E) Wild onion or wild garlic;
6. (F) Balloon vine; and
7. (G) Johnson grass, except that Johnson grass will be permitted at the time of field inspection in wheat only.
