(a)
- (1) The Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology designates the professional area examination in speech-language pathology or the professional area examination in audiology, offered as part of the Praxis Examination in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), Princeton, New Jersey 08540, as the state licensure examination for speech-language pathologists and audiologists, respectively.
- (2) Praxis shall set the pass/fail scores for each examination.
- (3) Arrangements and fees for all examinations are the responsibility of the applicant.
- (4) It shall be the responsibility of the applicant to assure that his or her score in the appropriate area examination is made available by ETS to the Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
- (5) The Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology may defer a decision on an application until it has considered the examination score.
(b)
- (1) The Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology may waive the examination and grant a license to any applicant who is certified by either the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or the American Board of Audiology in the area for which he or she is applying for licensure, provided that the current requirements for such certification are equivalent to or greater than those for licensure under the Licensure Act of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists, Arkansas Code § 17-100-101 et seq.
(2)
- (A) It shall be the responsibility of the applicant to furnish proof of his or her certification to the Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
- (B) This may be a clear photocopy of the certified member card or its current equivalent.
