1. (a)

   1. (1) The Arkansas Tripartite Committee on Continuing Pharmacy Education, hereinafter referred to as the committee, is established to maintain professional competence through continuing education.

   2. (2) The committee shall consist of the:

      1. (A) Executive Director of the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy, the dean or deans of the colleges of pharmacy approved by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy that are located within the State of Arkansas, and the Executive Vice President of the Arkansas Pharmacists Association; or
      2. (B) Designated representatives of these individuals.

2. (b) The general areas of responsibility for the committee shall be the following:

   1. (1) Plan and coordinate continuing education opportunities;
   2. (2) Promote research in continuing pharmacy education;
   3. (3) Develop information and record systems pertaining to the participation of pharmacists licensed in the State of Arkansas in continuing education; and
   4. (4) Make recommendations to the board concerning continuing education rules.

3. (c) The committee will meet periodically to:

   1. (1) Review and recommend changes in the criteria by which the continuing education will be approved; and
   2. (2) Accomplish the above responsibilities.
4. (d) The executive director will carry out approval of continuing education according to the guidelines in this subpart.
5. (e) The executive director will act as chair of the committee.
