(a) Dentists who choose to announce specialization should use “specialist in” or “practice limited to” and shall limit their practice exclusively to the announced special area or areas of dental practice, provided at the time of the announcement such dentists have:

1. (1) Met in each approved specialty for which they announce the existing educational requirements and standards set forth by the American Dental Association; and
2. (2) Been issued a specialty license by this state.

(b) Those special areas of dental practice will be limited to those approved by the American Dental Association and include the following:

1. (1) Dental public health;
2. (2) Endodontics;
3. (3) Oral pathology;
4. (4) Oral and maxillofacial surgery;
5. (5) Oral and maxillofacial radiology;
6. (6) Orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics;
7. (7) Pediatric dentistry;
8. (8) Periodontics; and
9. (9) Prosthodontics.
