1. (a) Only those courses directly related to provision of services and patient care shall be considered for credit.
2. (b) Any course is acceptable that contributes to updating and maintaining the knowledge and skills of the dentist or dental hygienist in the treatment of the individual patient or the management of the dental practice or clinic.
3. (c) Home study courses that include a post-test and the issuance of a certificate of completion will be accepted.
4. (d) CEUs will be determined by the course sponsor.
5. (e) At least one (1) CE hour in each two-year reporting period must be on the subject of infection control.

6. (f)

   1. (1) Courses dealing with other subjects of professional concern are outside the scope of the continuing education requirements.

   2. (2) Such courses or programs that will not qualify for approval are:

      1. (A) Money management;
      2. (B) Investments;
      3. (C) Time spent with professional and/or financial consultants; and
      4. (D) Professional organizational business meetings.
7. (g) The Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners does not preapprove courses.
