As used in this part:

1. (1) “Disinfect” means the destruction of bacterial, viral, and fungal pathogens (not spores) through the use of proper process and chemical disinfectants intended for use in the barbershop setting;

2. (2) “Disinfectant” means a United States Environmental Protection Agency-registered-disinfectant that is:

   1. (A) Bactericidal;
   2. (B) Virucidal; and
   3. (C) Fungicidal;
3. (3) “Sterilize” means the destruction of all microbial life through proper use of an autoclave;
4. (4) “Sanitation” means measures necessary for improving and protecting the health and well-being of the people; and

5. (5)

   1. (A) “Cleaning” means the mechanical process of removing surface debris from implements to prepare them for disinfection.
   2. (B) This process can be done with soap/water or a chemical cleaner.
