As used in this part:
- (1) “Disinfect” means the destruction of bacterial, viral, and fungal pathogens (not spores) through the use of proper process and chemical disinfectants intended for use in the barbershop setting;
(2) “Disinfectant” means a United States Environmental Protection Agency-registered-disinfectant that is:
- (A) Bactericidal;
- (B) Virucidal; and
- (C) Fungicidal;
- (3) “Sterilize” means the destruction of all microbial life through proper use of an autoclave;
- (4) “Sanitation” means measures necessary for improving and protecting the health and well-being of the people; and
(5)
- (A) “Cleaning” means the mechanical process of removing surface debris from implements to prepare them for disinfection.
- (B) This process can be done with soap/water or a chemical cleaner.
