In addition to or in contradiction of Subpart 1 of this part, the ring or cage shall:
- (1) The cage must be enclosed by fencing made of a material that will prevent a contestant from falling or breaking through the fenced area and such fencing must be covered using a nonabrasive, plasticized rubber, or vinyl material;
(2)
- (A) The cage must have properly padded posts made of metal not less than three inches (3”) nor more than six inches (6”) in diameter.
- (B) The platform of the cage cannot be less than three feet (3’) off the floor nor higher than seven feet (7’) off the floor;
- (3) The cage must have sufficient strength in both the floor and support structure to safely hold the actively moving weight of all contestants, officials, seconds, and other persons and equipment which may be simultaneously inside the ring;
- (4) The cage must be circular or have at least five (5) equal sides with the shortest straight-line distance between any two (2) opposite sides no less than eighteen feet (18’) across;
- (5) The cage must, have one (1) or more entry point with a gate secured using pins or latches which do not intrude into the contest area, are not tied together, and do not fall out or become unattached during a round by the vibration or movement inside the cage; and
- (6) The cage must be constructed in such a manner so as to provide a clear view into the cage from outside the cage.
