Seconds shall:
- (1) Assist, as necessary, their contestant before, during, and after a contest;
- (2) If the chief second, be in charge of each person in the contestant’s corner and be responsible for the conduct of and can suffer violations as well other seconds in contestant’s corner;
(3) If the chief second, ensure the presence in the contestant’s corner during the contest a:
- (A) Stool;
- (B) Pair of scissors;
- (C) Clean towel;
- (D) Clean water bucket;
- (E) Drinking water; and
- (F) Roll of permissible tape;
(4)
- (A) If the chief second, ensure no more than two (2) seconds enter the ring between rounds.
- (B) If a cut man is approved in a professional event, the method of delivering care inside or outside the platform shall be cleared in advance;
- (5) Before and during each round, ensure the entire ring platform and ropes are cleared of all obstructions, including buckets, stools, towels, excess water, and other articles;
- (6) Remain seated in their contestant’s corner during any round;
(7) Make all items present or intended to be present in a contestant’s corner available for inspection by the:
- (A) Commission;
- (B) Doctor; and
- (C) Inspectors;
- (8) Comply with the instructions of the officials;
- (9) Leave the ring upon instruction from the referee, official and before the start of any round;
- (10) Not by word or action attempt to heckle or annoy his or her contestant’s opponent during or immediately prior to any contest;
- (11) Not knock or pound on the ring or contest area floor during any round of a contest;
- (12) Not render aid to a contestant who is down or has not returned to a non-down position following a count before the doctor has examined the contestant;
- (13) Not assist or interfere with a contestant who is subject to a count until the referee has finished with the contestant;
- (14) Not enter the ring until the bell has sounded at the end of the round or if a fight has been stopped;
- (15) Not dump, spray, or toss excessive water on any fighter between rounds;
- (16) Not use any illegal or prohibited substances;
- (17) Not throw a towel or any other object into the ring, cage, or contest area during a round;
- (18) Not step onto the ring apron during any round of a contest, unless desiring to have their contestant declared the loser by technical knockout; and
- (19) Not enter the ring or climb on the cage during any round of a contest, unless desiring to have their contestant declared the loser by disqualification and subjecting themselves and their contestant to disciplinary action.
