Matchmakers shall:
- (1) Contact, solicit, or negotiate a contestant for the purpose of obtaining the contestant’s participation in or attempting to obtain the contestant’s participation in an event;
- (2) Match the contestants as to weight and experience in a manner consistent with this part;
- (3) Cooperate with and obey the instructions of the inspector during the event;
- (4) Be licensed by the State Athletic Commission, even if matchmaker is hired/employed by the promoter and be jointly responsible along with promoter for matches made and compliance with the Act and this part; and
- (5) If a designated matchmaker is in charge of making matches, then both the promoter and matchmaker will be subject to disciplinary action by the commission for failure to exercise objective and subjective good judgment in the arrangement or pairing of a match, whether the person knew or should have known one (1) contestant was substantially outclassed by the opponent.
