Supplementation, amendment, interpretation, and limitations
Arkansas Code § 17-22-204
- (a) Any rules may be supplemented or amended from time to time by the State Athletic Commission and are subject to further interpretation by the commission or the commission’s members, inspectors, or agents as necessary from time to time.
- (b) The rules provided for herein do not limit the actions permitted to be taken by the commission, committee, or the commission’s members, inspectors, or agents from time to time for the purpose of ensuring compliance with the combative sports law, rules, or the protection, safety, and welfare of the public, spectators, officials, or contestants.
(c) The interpretation of any rule shall be at the sole discretion of the commission on a case-by-case basis and such interpretation shall be final and binding with respect to the matter requiring an interpretation, with the over-riding concern to be:
- (A) The health, safety, and welfare of participants and the public; and
- (B) Whether or not the situation is correctable.
- (d) During the performance of official commission duties or in any other circumstance in which the commission may be deemed to be taking official action, the commission and its members, inspectors, and agents are specifically prohibited from providing legal advice to a person or entity subject to the jurisdiction of or regulation by the commission.
