- (a) In a nonclinical traditional setting, the athletic trainer shall practice the art and science of athletic training under the direction of a physician licensed by the Arkansas State Medical Board.
(b) In a clinical setting, the athletic trainer may practice athletic training in a hospital or outpatient clinic:
- (1) Under the direct supervision of a physical therapist; and
- (2) Upon the referral of a physician licensed in the State of Arkansas or of a physician licensed by the board.
