1. (a)

   1. (1) Applicants must submit unofficial transcript documentation for Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling review.
   2. (2) An official transcript conferring the master’s degree must be submitted prior to issuing the license.

   3. (3) The board’s office staff will review applicants' transcripts to ensure that:

      1. (A) All academic coursework for licensure has been completed at institutions of higher education having accreditation recognized by the board for degree programs and courses;
      2. (B) Applicants are minimally qualified to sit for the appropriate written examination or examinations by having completed either the required CACREP, COAMFTE, or equivalent core curriculum courses;
      3. (C) Core curriculum courses have been completed prior to admission to written examination/examinations unless exempt under 17 CAR § 602(e); and
      4. (D) All course grades are B- or above.
2. (b) If the transcript courses titles are ambiguous or do not adequately convey the pertinent content of the courses, the board’s office staff is to request documentation of content from the applicant for clarification purposes.

Codification Notes: “CACREP” means Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs. "COAMFTE" means Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education.
