(b) With the exception of treatments that are given at the location of a client or treatments given at a temporary location lasting not more than fourteen (14) days such as a trade show, sporting event, or community festival, massage therapist clinics, spas, or other facilities must have an adequate workspace:

1. (1) The work area must be:

   1. (A) Well-ventilated;
   2. (B) Clean; and
   3. (C) Well-equipped;
2. (2) There must be a sink for handwashing with hot and cold running water and soap must be accessible;

3. (3)

   1. (A) Sanitize all body surface area or areas that come into contact with a client prior to such contact with a disinfecting solution that is:

(i) Bactericidal — capable of destroying bacteria;

1. (ii) Virucidal — capable of destroying viruses; and

   1. (iii) Fungicidal — capable of destroying fungi;
   2. (B) Disinfectants must be used according to manufacturer labels to be safe and effective.
   3. (C) Contact time listed on the manufacturer’s label must be adhered to at all times to effectively destroy pathogens;

2. (4) Have accessible restrooms that are:

   1. (A) Clean and sanitary;
   2. (B) Without offensive odors; and
   3. (C) In working order at all times;
3. (5) Keep furniture, equipment, electrical equipment, and other fixtures clean and in good repair at all times;
4. (6) Launder linens after each use;
5. (7) Have a separate receptacle for soiled and clean linens;

6. (8) Keep clean linens stored out of public use areas including but not limited to:

   1. (A) Restrooms;
   2. (B) Reception area;
   3. (C) Hallways; and
   4. (D) Other public traffic areas;
7. (9) Keep oils, lotions, or any other products that are used on clients in containers that are labeled and closed;
8. (10) Be compliant with all applicable city, state, and local statutes and regulations;
9. (11) In-home massage clinics/offices must be located in a separate room or rooms used only for massage therapy services during ordinary business operations;
10. (12) There must be no bed in a room used for massage therapy services; and

11. (13) A school or clinic must be equipped with:

    1. (A) A massage table or tables;
    2. (B) A massage chair or chairs; and

    3. (C) Such standard equipment dictated by the practice of massage therapy.

       1. (c) In-home massage clinics/offices must be located in a separate room or rooms used only for massage therapy services during business operations.
       2. (d) Mobile clinics are not considered temporary.

(e)

1. (1) Anyone who has an infectious, contagious, or communicable disease that may be spread by airborne, droplet, contact, or indirect methods and who is in contact with the public must not practice until all risk of disease transmission is cleared.
2. (2) Any employee with such a disease must be immediately relieved from duty until all risk of disease transmission is cleared.
