A radiologic technologist, licensed technologist, or a limited license technologist shall abide by the following:

1. (1) The licensee:

   1. (A) Conducts herself or himself in a professional manner;
   2. (B) Responds to patient needs; and
   3. (C) Supports colleagues and associates in providing quality patient care;
2. (2) The licensee acts to advance the principle objective of the profession to provide services to humanity with full respect for the dignity of mankind;

3. (3) The licensee delivers patient care and service:

   1. (A) Unrestricted by the concerns of personal attributes or the nature of the disease or illness; and

   2. (B) Without discrimination on the basis of:

      1. (i) Sex;
      2. (ii) Race;
      3. (iii) Creed;
      4. (iv) Religion; or
      5. (v) Socioeconomic status;

4. (4) The licensee:

   1. (A) Practices radiologic technology founded upon theoretical knowledge and concepts;
   2. (B) Uses equipment and accessories consistent with the purposes for which they were designed; and
   3. (C) Employs procedures and techniques appropriately;

5. (5) The licensee:

   1. (A) Assesses situations;
   2. (B) Exercises care, discretion, and judgment;
   3. (C) Assumes responsibility for professional decisions; and
   4. (D) Acts in the best interest of the patient;

6. (6) The licensee:

   1. (A) Acts as an agent through observation and communication to obtain pertinent information for the physician to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient; and
   2. (B) Recognizes that interpretation, diagnosis, ordering, and prescribing radiologic examinations are outside the scope of practice for licensees;

7. (7) The licensee:

   1. (A) Respects confidences entrusted in the course of professional practice;
   2. (B) Respects the patient’s right to privacy; and
   3. (C) Reveals confidential information only as required by law or to protect the welfare of the individual or the community; and

8. (8) The licensee continually strives to improve knowledge and skills by:

   1. (A) Participating in continuing education and professional activities; and
   2. (B) Sharing knowledge with colleagues.
