(a) The Arkansas Natural Resources Commission will:
- (1) Compile water demand and supply data continuously; and
- (2) Improve its collection and analysis methods.
(b) Gap analyses for non-population-driven uses, such as agriculture, industry, and thermoelectric power generation, will be conducted:
- (1) On approximately five-year cycles; or
- (2) When the commission determines that emerging issues warrant more frequent study.
(c)
- (1) After release of the federal decennial census, the commission will update population-based water demand, supply, and gap analyses for public water and wastewater services.
- (2) The commission may determine that conditions require a more frequent interval.
(d) Regionally, the commission will foster efforts to involve the public in:
- (1) Water studies;
- (2) Revised estimates of water demand and availability;
- (3) Gap analysis; and
- (4) Planning.
(e) The commission will continue its Arkansas Water Plan education and awareness efforts through all practical means, including:
- (1) Presentations;
- (2) Participation in water conferences;
- (3) Social media and internet tools; and
- (4) Publications.
- (f) Full public involvement is necessary for successful implementation and future updates.
