- (a) The first step in the design of any onsite wastewater system is to determine the suitability of the soil.
- (b) A minimum of two (2) soil pits is required to determine the suitability of a site.
(c) One (1) pit shall be in the area of the proposed:
- (1) Primary absorption area; and
- (2) Secondary absorption area.
- (d) The soil pits shall be left open for use by the authorized agent.
- (e) Depths to seasonal water tables, bedrock (if encountered), and the type and depth of the various soil layers including both pervious and impervious strata and their relationship with the proposed soil absorption system’s other impervious strata shall be reported.
- (f) No soil absorption system shall be installed in fill material.
