(a) After expiration of the time for submission of beaver control plans, the Department of Agriculture shall:
- (1) Review the state funds available for the program in the current fiscal year; and
- (2) Determine the funds available for the beaver control program.
(b)
- (1) The department shall allocate the available funds to each district desiring to participate in the program.
(2) This allocation shall be based upon the:
- (A) District’s demonstrated need for beaver control; and
- (B) Probable success of the district's beaver control program.
(3) In making the allocation, the department may consider the following:
- (A) The beaver control plan;
- (B) The estimated number of beavers within the district;
- (C) The type and severity of damage;
- (D) The number of beavers harvested in the past under this or similar programs; and
- (E) Other factors to ensure equity in allocation.
- (c) After allocation, the department shall provide each participating district the amount of its allocation.
- (d) Each district may request reimbursement as provided in this subpart up to the amount of its allocation.
(e)
(1) The department shall review the allocation of funds:
- (A) On or about April 1 of each year; or
- (B) As otherwise necessary to ensure that the funds are used as effectively as possible.
- (2) No reduction in any participating district's allocation shall occur without prior notification to the district.
