(a) Operator training.

1. (1) All individuals operating an Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC) access device, including mobile devices, must be trained.
2. (2) Training is necessary for the proper and effective use of the state and national computer systems.
3. (3) Required training is defined in the ACIC Training Policy, as approved by the Supervisory Board for the Arkansas Crime Information Center.

(b) Officer training.

1. (1) ACIC provides a general overview of the state and national computer systems to law enforcement officers during all basic classes at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy or other authorized basic training entities.

2. (2)

   1. (A) ACIC will also provide training, upon request, for officers in any department.
   2. (B) Such training will be tailored to what a street officer needs to know about the state and national computer systems.

(c) Other training.

1. (1) ACIC periodically provides special orientation classes for criminal justice officials.

2. (2) These sessions emphasize:

   1. (A) General system capabilities;
   2. (B) State and national policies;
   3. (C) Liability issues; and
   4. (D) Matters of administrative interest.
