Effective for taxes collected after the ratification of this amendment, the proceeds of any ad valorem tax levied in Pickens County pursuant to Amendment No. 649, as amended by Amendment No. 765, of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, now appearing as Pickens County 54-11.00 of the Constitution of Alabama of 2022, as amended, distributed to volunteer fire departments for fire protection purposes, in addition to being used for fire protection purposes, may be used for emergency medical purposes by a volunteer fire department in the county, including, but not limited to, for the purchase of medical equipment, rescue equipment, and medical supplies and otherwise for the delivery of emergency medical services.
