1. (a) The members of the commission shall receive no salary or compensation as members of such commission, but shall be reimbursed for expenses of travel, meals, and lodging while in the performance of their duties as members of such commission in accordance with Article 2, Chapter 7, Title 36.

2. (b) The commission shall hold regular meetings at least twice every calendar year at the time and place designated by the chairperson of the commission. Special meetings of the commission may be called at the discretion of the chairperson of the commission and shall be called by the chairperson of the commission upon written request of the division chief or three members of the commission requesting that the commission consider any matter within its authority. All members shall be notified of the time and place designated for any regular or special meeting at least five days prior to such meeting in any of the following ways:

   1. (1) By written notice mailed to the member’s last known address.
   2. (2) By telegram.
   3. (3) By telephone.
3. (c) The division chief shall serve as ex officio secretary of the commission and shall keep minutes of all meetings and a record of all proceedings of the commission. The division chief shall receive no additional compensation for such services.
