To manage, supervise, control, and distribute the fund, there shall be a board of trustees, to be known as the Board of Trustees of the Firemen’s and Policemen’s Pension and Relief Fund, which shall have the following five members:
- (1) The officer of the city having supervision of the police department, and the fire department, who shall be the chair of the board.
- (2) The chief of the city fire department.
- (3) The chief of the city police department.
- (4) One firefighter.
- (5) One policeman. Immediately after June 19, 1947, the chief of the police department shall appoint a policeman and the chief of the fire department shall appoint a firefighter to serve as members of the board until their successors are elected as provided in Section 45–57A–62.05.
