It shall be the duty of the commission to pass upon the appropriateness of:
- (1) The exterior architectural features of buildings and structures to be erected, constructed, reconstructed, altered, renovated, or restored within any historic preservation district, except as hereinafter provided.
- (2) The removal or demolition of any structure or building within any historic preservation district.
- (3) The erection of any sign within any historic preservation district, provided, however, that passing on the appropriateness of a marker identifying the address and occupants of a residence shall not be within the province of the commission.
