It shall be unlawful for any person to practice dental hygiene in the State of Alabama, except:

1. (1) Those who are now licensed dental hygienists pursuant to law; and
2. (2) Those who may hereafter be duly licensed and who are currently registered as dental hygienists pursuant to this chapter.
