The following persons and entities, including affiliated entities under common control, are exempt from this chapter:

1. (1) Any person or entity that uses the employees of the person or entity for security services.
2. (2) Any employee who provides security services only for his or her employer and not for any third party.
3. (3) A sworn peace officer.
