Processed animal waste shall meet the following standards before it may be sold or offered for sale in Alabama as commercial feed or feed ingredient:
(a) Dried poultry waste shall contain as follows:
- 1. Not less than 18% crude protein.
- 2. Not more than 15% crude fiber.
- 3. Not more than 30% ash.
- 4. Not more than 1% feathers.
- 5. Not more than 15% moisture.
(b) Dried poultry litter shall contain as follows:
- 1. Not less than 16% crude protein.
- 2. No more than 40% crude fiber.
- 3. No more than 40% ash.
- 4. No more than 5% feathers.
- 5. No more than 15% moisture.
(c) Dried ruminant waste shall contain as follows:
- 1. Not less than 12% crude protein.
- 2. No more than 40% crude fiber.
- 3. No more than 30% ash.
- 4. No more than 40% straw, wood shavings or other bedding material acceptable to the Commissioner.
- 5. No more than 15% moisture.
- (d) No undried processed animal waste product shall contain more than 40% straw, wood shavings or other bedding material acceptable to the Commissioner.
- (e) Any product labeled as containing dried animal waste products shall contain no more than 15% moisture.
