1. (1) Applicants shall possess a current national certificate as a certified therapeutic shoe fitter from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification/Accreditation, International (BOC) and provide documentation that they are in good standing with either the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification/Accreditation, International (BOC) and provide documentation that they are current with continuing education requirements by either the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification/Accreditation, International (BOC).;

2. (2) Applicants who are not nationally certified as a therapeutic shoe fitter must meet the following requirements for licensure:

   1. (a) Applicants must possess a high school diploma, GED, or college degree.

   2. (b) Applicants must have successfully completed an approved therapeutic shoe fitter educational course. Approved courses are provided by:

      1. 1. Acor and NIPCO
      2. 2. Aetrex and NIPCO
      3. 3. CFS Allied Health Education
      4. 4. Dr. Comfort
      5. 5. International School of Pedorthics
      6. 6. National Pedorthic Services
      7. 7. Preferred Medical Supply Company, Inc.

      8. 8. P. W. Minor and NIPCO

         The Board may approve other similar courses.

   3. (c) Applicants must have documentation of 500 hours of Therapeutic shoe fitter experience obtained either before or after the fitter educational course. The 500 hours shall be audited for the purpose of verifying the training.
3. (3) Applicants shall be employed with a business entity with a physical address located in the State of Alabama.
