1. (1) Over-the-counter medications/products require a signed prescription from a physician or other practitioner legally licensed by the State of Alabama to prescribe the drugs authorized under the program.
2. (2) Over-the-counter medications/products must be dispensed by a licensed Medicaid pharmacist in accordance with state and federal laws as stated in Rule 560-X-16-.01.
3. (3) Over-the-counter medications/products will be reimbursed as stated in Rule No. 560-X-16-.06 Reimbursement for Covered Drugs.
4. (4) Over-the-counter medications/products will be covered in long term care facilities as stated in Rule No. 560-X-16-.05 Long Term Care Facilities.
