- (1) Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) - A professional hearing officer utilized by the Department to review and make determinations of requests for administrative reviews filed by employees who have had a claim of exemption for COVID-19 Vaccination denied by their employer.

https://vaxexemption.alabama.gov. - (3) Exemption – A properly completed vaccination exemption claim form filed by an employee with their employer requesting to be exempt from vaccination because of certain medical conditions or due to a sincerely held religious belief.
- (4) Licensed Health Care Provider - means a physician, physician assistant, advanced registered nurse practitioner or nurse who is licensed, certified, or registered in accordance with laws and regulations in this or another state.
- (5) Vaccination – Any injection approved or authorized for emergency use by the Federal Drug Administration that is intended to prevent the spread of COVID-19 or minimize the effects of COVID-19, irrespective of whether or not the injection meets the classical definition of vaccine.
