1. (1) Purpose. The purpose of these rules is to protect the health of the public by establishing standards for the training, qualification, scope of practice, and licensing of emergency medical services personnel and for the operation, design, equipment, and licensing of ambulances and ambulance service operators. These rules shall be interpreted and applied to protect the public health.
2. (2) Statutory Authority. The State Board of Health is authorized to adopt and promulgate these rules under and by virtue of the authority of §22-18-1, et seq., Code of Ala. 1975.
