Chair and Vice Chair

- 1. Duties of the Chair:
- (a) The Chair shall exercise general supervision of the Board's affairs, shall preside at all meetings when present, shall appoint all committees, and shall perform all other duties pertaining to his or her office.
- (b) On matters before the Board, the Chair votes with the Board members in accordance with Roberts' Rules of Order Newly Revised, 12th edition §49:21(7). Should the vote result in a tie, the motion fails in accordance with Roberts' Rules of Order Newly Revised, 12th edition § 44:12.
- (c) The Chair serves as the NCARB Delegate. After caucusing, the Delegate casts votes reflecting the majority. Should caucusing result in a tie, the Delegate casts the deciding vote.
- 2. Duties of the Vice Chair:
- (a) The Vice Chair, in the absence of the Chair, shall perform all the duties of the Chair.
- (b) The Vice Chair may serve as the Board's representative to the Southern Conference of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards if assigned by the Chair.
