The department has determined that a need exists among the state's adult population for the availability of nonmedical residential care. The purpose of the program described under 7 AAC 47.300 - 7 AAC 47.535 is to provide temporary financial assistance to eligible adults, including vulnerable adults, who require the protective oversight of an assisted living home. The program objective is to enable those adults to receive assistance with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living necessary for the health, safety, and welfare of the individual.
