(g) The registration deadline is August 1. A vessel must register with the department not later than August 1 to participate in the fishery. Before a vessel may be registered under this section, the vessel operator must

1. (1) obtain a CFEC interim-use permit for king crab that includes the vessel's ADF&G license plate number; and

2. (2) file a registration form with the department; the registration form must

   1. (A) identify the vessel and the vessel operator; and
   2. (B) be submitted to the Dutch Harbor or Kodiak department office in person or by United States mail, electronic mail, or facsimile transmission.

(h) During the state waters season,

1. (1) not more than 90 pots may be operated from a validly registered vessel;
2. (2) pots may only be operated to take golden king crab from 8:00 a.m. to 7:59 p.m. daily;

3. (3) a vessel owner or operator must report the following to a local department representative by telephone, electronic mail, or radio, as specified on the vessel's registration form:

   1. (A) the number of pot lifts from the vessel in the previous 24-hour reporting period;
   2. (B) the number of crab retained on the vessel during the previous 24-hour reporting period;
   3. (C) other information that the commissioner determines is necessary for the management and conservation of the fishery.
