5 AAC 27.893 was filed as an Emergency Regulation on 5/1/87. The identical section had been filed in a set of "regular" regulations on 4/21/87 to take effect 5/21/87, Register 102. The Emergency Regulation was therefore allowed to lapse. The history line for 5 AAC 27.893 reflects only the 5/1/87 effective date of the section.

1. (a) In the Goodnews Bay, Nelson Island, and Cape Avinof Districts, a vessel used to take herring may not be more than 30 feet in overall length. For the purpose of this section, "overall length" means the straight-line measurement between the extremities of the vessel.
2. (b) In the Nelson Island, Goodnews Bay, and Cape Avinof Districts, a vessel used to take herring may not have on board any mechanical device designed to shake or dislodge herring from a gillnet.
