1. (a) The department shall provide a notice to each district of the preliminary designations for each school under 4 AAC 06.840 before the final scores and designations are made available to the public. In the notice, the department shall include an opportunity for the district to review the school-level data, including state assessment data, on which the preliminary designation is based.
2. (b) If the district believes that the preliminary designation is in error for statistical or other substantive reasons, the district may, within 10 working days after the district receives the preliminary designation for the school, provide supporting evidence to the department. The department shall consider the evidence before making a recommendation to the commissioner regarding a final score and designation. The commissioner or the commissioner's designee will consider the recommendation and the evidence before deciding upon a final score and designation.
3. (c) Not later than 20 working days after the district receives notice of the preliminary score and designation, the commissioner or the commissioner's designee will issue a final determination on the score and designation of a school for which the district provided supporting evidence in accordance with (b) of this section.
