Prohibition against automated collect calls or the broadcasting of tones

- (a) A local exchange carrier or interexchange carrier may not provide transmission services for pay-per-call telephone service originated by an information service provider and charged to a customer unless the called party has taken affirmative action clearly indicating that it accepts the charges for collect pay-per-call telephone service.
- (b) A local exchange carrier or interexchange carrier may not provide transmission services for a pay-per-call telephone service that uses the broadcasting of tones to dial a pay-per-call telephone service number.
