For purposes of eligibility for a master artist and apprentice grant,
(1) the apprentice
- (A) on and after the date that the application is submitted, must be in compliance with the requirements of AS 01.10.055 for establishing residency in the state;
- (B) must be at least 18 years of age;
- (C) must have demonstrated experience in the traditional Alaska Native art form for which the individual proposes to serve as an apprentice;
- (D) must have located a master artist willing to accept the applicant as an apprentice; and
- (E) may not be enrolled as a full-time student during the period of the grant; and
(2) the master artist
- (A) must provide evidence of the master artist's own excellence in the traditional Alaska Native art form in which the grant applicant proposes to serve as an apprentice;
- (B) must provide evidence of recognition by members of the master artist's cultural community for proficiency and skill in the traditional Alaska Native art form in which the grant applicant proposes to serve as an apprentice;
- (C) must agree to accept the grant applicant as an apprentice;
- (D) must be at least 18 years of age; and
- (E) on and after the date that the application is submitted, must be in compliance with the requirements of AS 01.10.055 for establishing residency in the state.
