(a) The council acquires a work of art by purchase through the art in public places fund
- (1) directly from an artist after advisory committee review; or
- (2) from a juried exhibition in this state.
(b) The council may not acquire a work of art
- (1) unless acquisition of the work of art has been approved by an art advisory committee selected by the council; or
- (2) recommended for acquisition by the art advisory committee if the work of art to be acquired was created by a person serving as a member of the art advisory committee or a member of the council.
