Alaska Admin. Code tit. 20, § 25.1025
An owner or operator seeking to convert existing Class I, Class II, or Class V experimental wells or any other well authorized by 20 AAC 25.005 to Class VI carbon storage wells must demonstrate to the commission that the wells were engineered and constructed to meet the requirements at 20 AAC 25.1210(a) and ensure protection of underground sources of drinking water, in lieu of requirements at 20 AAC 25.1210(b) and 20 AAC 25.1220(a)(1) - (5). A converted well must still meet all other requirements under 20 AAC 25.1000 - 20 AAC 25.1900. For the purpose of this section, "Class I" well has the meaning given in 40 C.F.R. 144.6, Subpart A (classification of wells), revised January 10, 2011, and adopted by reference, and "Class II" has the meaning given in 20 AAC 25.252.
