1. (a) After plans for a system design are approved under 18 AAC 72.225, the system owner, system operator, or design engineer must obtain written department approval before making any revision to that design that modifies or affects

   1. (1) capacity, flow, or operation;
   2. (2) the type or characteristics of the wastewater treated;
   3. (3) the design of major system components, such as treatment systems;
   4. (4) the point of discharge;
   5. (5) materials of major system components, including pipe and stabilization pond liners; or
   6. (6) applicable separation distance requirements in this chapter.

2. (b) A revision proposed for approval under (a) of this section must

   1. (1) be clearly depicted with respect to the original plans;
   2. (2) meet the applicable requirements of AS 46.03 and this chapter; and
   3. (3) be signed and sealed by a registered engineer.
3. (c) As necessary to protect public health, public and private water systems, and the environment, the department will require remedial action to bring a revision into compliance with this chapter before issuing final approval to operate under 18 AAC 72.240.
