Unless the context indicates otherwise, in this chapter
- (1) "award" means a waste reduction and recycling award for a public school under AS 46.11.070;
- (2) "department" means the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation;
- (3) "recycling" means the reuse of an original product, reclamation of waste materials for future use, or the conversion of waste materials for use in a new product; and
- (4) "waste reduction" means an activity that reduces, avoids, or eliminates the generation of waste at its source in a production process or operation.
